This week I viewed an online article telling about how today’s real estate market is not in favor of the seller. It seemed to be written with a national view which obviously did not include Counties west of San Francisco Bay. Well, wake up world as the economy and housing market in our area is literally booming!
My office is strategically located in downtown Belmont next door to San Carlos. We have a peaceful community, terrific weather and location, great schools, a very trendy and bustling downtown and it is just a fantastic place to live. Not to mention dozens of excellent restaurants! Yes, Belmont is small and unknown to many but, it is becoming a culinary destination. Business people from Redwood Shores and the local area line up on Holly Street every working day causing a solid line of cars from the Bayshore freeway into our downtown just to come here and eat lunch.
Our Real Estate market is driven by not only high demand and low supply but the many well-paying employers abundant in our area of high tech, bio-tech and other successful firms. Detached, older 2 bedroom homes in San Carlos are selling in the neighborhood of $1,000,000 plus! Buyers have the money and qualifications to make the purchase and sellers are happy to oblige. We can’t as brokers and agents just sit and wait for buyers. We do our proven preparation work up front, market quickly and effectively then often set a date to take offers from eager sellers and their agents.
But, what will we do when the market changes from a seller’s to a buyer’s market? What does that mean? How can I get in on that?
More on that next time.
